Hunt Midwest is building its sixth and largest StorTropolis self-storage facility in Olathe, Kansas, extending the popular climate-controlled storage brand to every corner of the Kansas City metro.
StorTropolis Olathe is under construction now at 601 N Millridge Street, located just off K-7 and 135th Street next to the Walmart Supercenter and ALDI grocery store. It will include 112,987 leasable square feet across 867 total climate-controlled units of a variety of sizes, ranging from 5 foot by 5 foot square units to 13 foot by 42 foot units for boats, RVs, and other large equipment.
Upon opening of the new location in September 2024, StorTropolis will offer more than 4,000 total self-storage units across six locations, including StorTropolis Brighton in Clay County, StorTropolis Tiffany Springs in Platte County, StorTropolis Blue Springs, StorTropolis Shawnee, and StorTropolis Lenexa.

StorTropolis is the first climate-controlled, self-storage provider in the metro area to offer contactless unit rental. Customers can view available units, compare pricing, and complete the leasing process entirely online. StorTropolis also offers customers the option to lease through an on-site office.
Hunt Midwest partnered with Strickland Construction, a Kansas City-based construction company specializing in storage complexes, and Storage Asset Management to build and operate the new Olathe facility. Both partners also built and operate the existing StorTropolis locations across the metro.
