Does renting storage units require insurance?
Yes, StorTropolis Self-Storage requires insurance when renting a storage unit. You can provide proof of your own insurance as you are checking out, or you can purchase one of our insurance plans. We offer a few different options, so you are able to choose the best for your situation. Ask our storage experts which plan would be best for you.
Are locks provided/sold on site?
Yes, our storage facilities sell a variety of moving and packing supplies – including locks – in our office. You can purchase moving and packing supplies such as locks, boxes, packing tape, and furniture covers at any of our area StorTropolis Self-Storage locations today!
How do I pay my bill online?
Navigate to the top of our website, and you will see a button that says “Pay Bill.” Click this button to login to your account. From here, click on the storage unit in your account that you wish to pay the bill for. You can also choose to prepay for your upcoming month’s bill.
How do I reach someone after hours?
If you have an urgent issue after business hours, please call any StorTropolis Self-Storage location and press 1 to speak with a representative. You can find each storage facility’s phone number listed on our website’s “Contact” page. Additionally, there is a chat button on the website that can support you. Feel free to call or send us an email at any time.
Can I rent short-term?
Yes, StorTropolis Self-Storage offers convenient month-by-month storage leases to allow for flexible rental space. At our storage facility, you will never be stuck in a long contract. Rent for a month, a few months, or find your long-term storage solution with us at StorTropolis Self-Storage today!
What discounts do you offer?
Currently, our storage facilities offer a variety of storage discounts. Customers ages 65+ can receive our Senior Discount of 5% off monthly. Active duty military members can receive 10% off monthly. Do you have movers?
No, currently our storage facility does not offer any sort of moving service. However, we list our Neighborhood Friends at the bottom of each storage facility’s rental page so our tenants can find local assistance with trusted businesses. Search through our Neighborhood Friends list to find movers within your area.
Do you have truck rentals?
No, our storage facilities do not offer any on-site truck rental services, but you can find a truck to rent with a recommended local business in one our store’s Neighborhood Friends list.
Do you have storage auctions?
Yes, our storage facilities do hold storage auctions. Auctions of storage units occur after fulfilling the state lien law procedure of someone who has not made a payment on their unit. Storage auctions aren’t our favorite side of the business, but they are a part of it. Storage auctions will be held online at Lockerfox.com. Simply visit the site, and entire the zip code of one our StorTropolis Self-Storage facilities to check-in on any of our current storage auctions.
Can I live or sleep in a storage unit?
No, living in a storage unit is prohibited by various local and federal housing laws. Additionally, living in a storage unit is considered extremely unsafe. Storage unit doors lock from the outside and do not have running water to support a residence.
What storage unit size do I need?
At StorTropolis Self Storage, we offer a variety of storage unit sizes to meet any renter’s needs. Depending on the amount of items you are looking to store, how long you are looking to store, and what you are trying to store, different storage unit sizes might serve you better. Our online storage calculator can give you a storage unit size recommendation based on the objects you enter. Simply input any items you plan on placing in your storage unit, and this convenient calculator will provide you with an estimate as to how much storage space you will need. Use this estimate as a reference to selecting your correct storage unit.
When I rent online, can I access my storage unit right away?
Yes. When you rent a storage unit through our contactless storage rentals you are able to access your storage unit immediately once you receive your confirmation email. The online rental process lets you choose your storage unit and pay for it within minutes – it’s that simple. Once the transaction is completed, you can move into your storage unit right away.
Can I access my storage unit at any time?
No, but our storage facilities do offer gate access outside of normal business hours. Our storage facility’s gate hours are from 6 AM – 10 PM.
